MES provides bend testing of welds for certification.

BEnd Testing

BEND TESTING AT MES

The MES bend test lab provides three and four point bend testing on your welds and materials. Bend testing determines the ductility or the strength of a material by bending the material over a given radius. Following the bend, the sample is inspected for cracks on the outer surface. Bend testing provides insight into the modulus of elasticity and the bending strength of a material.

Specimens are often cut into rectangular bars or tested as whole. We routinely test machined coupons, fasteners, wire, cable, tubes, pipes, plates, structural beams, or bars. Our machine shop and qualified machinists will machine your raw materials to standard coupons if necessary.

THE MES ADVANTAGE

Located in Dallas, MES has a complete metallurgical laboratory staffed with graduate level materials engineers to supervise all bend testing projects. Our full-service mechanical lab offers rapid test results at an affordable price. As an A2LA ISO 17025 accredited lab, quality is our focus.

BENEFITS TO BEND TESTING

Below are some benefits of conducting metal bend testing:

  1. Ductility Assessment

  2. Evaluation of Formability

  3. Quality Control

  4. Material Selection

  5. Research and Development

  6. Cost-Effective Testing

Metal bend testing provides valuable information about the ductility, formability, and mechanical behavior of metals. Its benefits include assessing ductility, evaluating formability, ensuring quality control, aiding material selection, supporting research and development efforts, and offering a cost-effective testing method for evaluating metal properties.
